Draklor Laboratory

"Weapons research laboratory located a short distance from the administrative district in the northeast of Archades, sponsored by the Archadian Imperial Army, with Dr. Cidolfus Demen Bunansa as its head researcher and maker of policy. Research is divided among airship design projects, sundry weapons projects, and magickal endeavors. In recent years, particular attention has been paid to magicite research, with great strides being made in the manufacting of magicite and improved methods of drawing energy from the stones. A strict security system is in place to ensure that none of the knowledge in Draklor Laboratory leaves its doors without authorization."

The head researcher at Draklor is Dr. Cid, who, by the time the game begins, has become obsessed with nethicite and spends all of his time researching its properties and how to integrate it into weapons for the empire.

Vaan and the rest infiltrated the Draklor Laboratory with the help of Balthier's "friend", Jules. Once inside, the party discovered that someone else has also infiltrated the building. The intruder shows himself when the party reaches the upper floors leading to Dr. Cid's room, revealed to be the Sky Pirate Reddas. Reddas assists the party when they confronted Dr. Cid face-to-face.

When the party first arrive there are no enemies. It is not until after the party arrives and obtains the map that an alarm is triggered, calling various enemy soldiers and the occasional mastiff to defend the lab. The party manages to reach the top floor by using switches to remotely open and close different doors, and there they fight Cid. Once Dr. Cid is defeated, the party can no longer return.

The cab lands outside of the laboratory and she exits it. She takes a deep breath before walking towards the entrance.

"Need to be careful in here.. or this will end very badly.." she says quietly to herself as she walks through the doors into Draklor.

As she enters the facility, she notices that some red lights are blinking, signaling that an alarm has been set off.

"Great, I'm going to get myself killed in here.." she mumbles as she draws her sword and continues on.

Several minutes later she comes upon some soldiers laying in the hallway wounded. "What the hell?" she walks over to one of them that is still breathing and takes off his helmet so she can see his face. "What happened here?" she asks him.

"A..a.. man. With two swords. Intruder..! He killed.. or.. wounded.. everyone.. and Cid.. beware.. he's power.. crazy.." he replied very hoarsely and painfully. After that, he passed before she was able to heal him.

"Damn it. Cid's gone crazy? This isn't going to end well.. Maybe I should leave before I get in over my head about this.." she says as she lays the man back down on the floor and wipes the blood from his face on her cape. She then turns towards the way she came to leave. "This was a bad idea in the first place.. I'm not ready to face Cid." she starts walking towards the entrance when she hears an elevator coming down to the right of her in a different room. She stops and hides behind a corner to see who comes out. "Hmm.."

As she watches, a man with dark brown hair and a reddish coat walk out of the elevator. Her eyes widen as she realizes who it is. "Vayne!" she mumbles to herself. She reaches for her sword silently..

"I know you are there, Icisia. No use in hiding.." a cold voice jeers from the room whence she was looking into.

Shit. She rounds the corner and stands with her hand on the hilt of her sword, facing her enemy. Vayne Solidor.

The cab landed at Draklor and she departs from it, and walks through the entrance, her axe in hand.

Vayne laughs at her and brings up his right hand. "No use in fighting, you are trapped here."

"Hmph. I knew coming here was a bad idea," she says as she draws her sword and points it at him.

Rollan ran into the laboratory and quickly barricaded the exit. "Me he he he he!!" He noticed the two people about to do combat. "OOohhh.."

She turned and saw more people enter.

"Oh you gotta be kidding! Looks like I'm going to have to make a grand.. exit this time."

She brings her right hand up and concentrates for a second. Then, in a burst of light a 10 foot tall silver dragon appears standing next to her.

"Alright Thundia. Get us an exit out of here."

At that command, the thunder dragon roars and swings her tail around, knocking Vayne and anyone in the way backwards. Then she turns towards a wall and charges at it, smashing through on impact. Icisia then runs towards the wall and jumps out, landing on the silver dragon's back. With a wink towards Draklor, they take off towards the outskirts of the city.

When the dragon crashed through the wall, he ran after it and grabbed onto its tail as it took flight.

She turns her gaze around and sees that she has a little.. hitchhiker.. on her dragon. "Hey! You little punk get off! No free rides!"

"NEVA, LADEH!" He gripped onto the dragon's tail even tighter. "Hey, you look like that bra stuffer I met in Raba..Raba...Rabas.."

"Rabanastre?" she asks curiously. She then turns her head back towards her dragon and whispers something, and the dragon begins to descend at the Phon Coast.

"Yeah! That place!!"

"Mhmm." The dragon lands on a beach at the Phon Coast, and she jumps off of her back.

He lets go of the tail and looks around. "What the..?"
